as a child i didn't have internet in my house, as a teen i was allowed but only on things like moviestarplanet and no social media. and not to sound like a boomer but everyday i just become more glad that this is how i grew up

My parents were strict against using social media (they still caution about it but as an adult they theoretically can’t dictate what apps I download). I used to create fake accounts under fake names because I wanted to much to be popular and stay connected to “friends”

Oh absolutely. I was very restricted on going online. In fact, my mom took off the browser off my phone most times

I was allowed to use it freely after i turned 10. Before that it was timed and mom was always in the room supervising that i didnt do or watch anything dumb. I think i was about 6 when my parents bought our first computer.

I didn't had internet at home until my late teens and even that it was with limited GBs so i couldnt use it much 😭 My mom only put the unlimited internet after i went to college

However once or 2 times a week I took my PCwith me and used the internet at school and library to download things (like tv shows/movies, kdramas and kpop/jpop MVs/songs) to watch at home.
