i have a few other posts ill link at the bottom on the show and my trying to call the winners.
And i watched each episode in real time and posted thoughts.
in case ya forgot here are the final ranks.
6k 2j 1 c Although that is even iffy.. Mashiro after all that time at jyp spoke mostly Korean in the broadcasts. so she is a soft j.
As a show it was far and away my least fav of the produce type.
Beating out Idol school by being more enjoyable to watch and much better subs. ( not screwing up she/ he is a big plus)
As a gauge to how much i liked it, I have not saved any ep and i have all of produce 101 , produce 101 china and PD 48 saved with subs.
I did rewatch one ep, but i cant remember which.
Now i do love several of the performances and watch them often.
Songs that i hate or never watch. i watch the show covers like bubble pop or yes or yes. and ofc shoot is love. :)
As to the new group.
Mnet did not push first is center like before so that is up in the air.
Chaehyun will not be the center is my guess.
And the ranks are not important now, i call it the chip and a chair mentality.
They are at the table with a shot to make it work. good luck
Its gonna take some solid management to put this together.
Members i have an interest in / attachment to are Yujin , Hikaru, and Mashiro.
Oddly i really do not rewatch many of their group performances except shoot and mama told me.
In fact most i really dislike the song itself so they got my attention from a one off or for other things.
from the v live i posted earlier this week Yeseo stood out also.
Dance wise like always the produce groups are all solid to very good dancers. ( with the one exception normally, its odd but gotta call it a theme after 4 shows.)
Picking a main will be a style choice.
Dayeon, Xiaoting, Hikaru, and Yeseo are in the mix. Best guess it the first 2 will have the title.
Vocally they have a bunch of what i would call good lead vocals.
Chaehyun who many project as the main had issues in every single performance, but maybe like Yuri (who was last in my rank of the 3 pd 48 finale main vocals) she will get it together after debut and find the right songs.
I would guess she Youngeun, and Mashiro to carry the heavy lifting. Bahiyyih and Yujin next.
Rap i really do not care.
Hikaru and Dayeon i would guess.
Visually they are all super pretty.
Center may be fluid but i would guess its Xiaoting, Yeseo and Yujin and maybe Dayeon.
Xiaoting is tall and that usually helps, but the elephant in the room is she is Chinese and was last and that may not fly well in Korea.
Also the group is young with an odd aura, Yujin may have to be leader and center as well is too much.
Call it Yeseo she can do cute and elegant which is most likely the ballpark for the sound.
leader Yujin or Mashiro.
I am still up in the air over the group.
The show was so bad at its job i am not invested in enough of the girls right now to commit to more than checking out the songs.
It did not help that they put so much time into Dayeon during a song i hate so i was zoned out the whole time.
ironically as an int fan i am less sad over the mix than others because they(mostly the older Chinese girls) would have pushed it to a gc type of which i stan/follow zero groups.
so i am giving them a chance and have continued to watch stuff.
Hoping they come up with something fun and enjoyable.
