He told fans to calm him a certain nickname, and they did. They later found out that was his girlfriend's dog's nickname, and no one knew they were dating.

I still don't understand why idols can't publicly date, I mean as long as it is mutual who cares.
Like even you romanticize and/or look up to someone famous they still have normal emotions and feelings that everyone does.

As far as I'm aware, it was debunked that the girl that was spreading this rumor and the "evidence" was actually a sasaeng and quickly deleted everything after people called her out on it. It is clearly him holding the cat, but as to if it's the same cat, or coincidentally looks the same is another story - there's also no evidence of images with him and her together (something that couples that are together typically do, even if they are with celebs).

Regardless if he's actually dating someone or not, that's his business and nobody else's. Mochi is a common nickname people give, especially to idols and especially to those that are squishy - which he is in personality, and was for a long time during the first few years of debut/rookie-dom. He's only recently lost some weight and matured into his sharper features (minus his jaw - that's been sharp as a knife always).

That aside, why people get so possessive, upset, and feel betrayed is beyond me.
Let the man live, let the man love.

You don't own him. Don't feel betrayed just because he's possibly finding happiness in his life.
Being someone that has loved him since day one, I hope for nothing but his happiness.

I also feel for you that you can't support someone in their personal life - especially someone you don't even support as an artist.

This is a callous statement to say, especially from rumors and circulated imagery that proves absolutely nothing; even if it did prove he was dating, it's sad that people can't simply be happy for him and instead take these circulated "evidences" as some sort of "ASTRO IS OVER LOL" and "he ruined them" and "nobody ever liked him anyway" etc.

I'm honestly disappointed that you'd say something like the above, I thought better of you.

There have been an overwhelming majority of fans supporting JinJin regardless of the outcome of the tweets/instagram posts made by the girl with the supposed evidence, both in Korea and internationally, so this is heartwarming to see.

Today's post from Sanha that included the image of ASTRO's leader looking healthy was a breath of fresh air for most of us awaiting an image from JinJin after the few-day blow up that the girl caused in regards to these rumors, as he normally is posting quite frequently even during a bit of downtime or hiatus and there hadn't been anything posted really since it happened. As he is the type of person to handle things quite emotionally and cares a great deal how others view him and his actions, especially those that support him, it was worrisome to us fans.

You can see the outpouring of love and relief that many fans have now that we have an update visually of JinJin and he seems well (at least physically) on the most recent update with Sanha and JinJin of their performance in Hanbok.



And for what it's worth, like I mentioned above, JinJin has always been referred to as squishy and also as slow. If it was indeed the nickname or name of the cat as well, I assume it is due to coincidence and not because of some mystical reference to the cat - even if it was, I don't know why it would be a big deal. Jennie named her dog Kai well before she started dating someone of the same stage name, and those sure didn't have anything to do with each other.

I'm glad you are being levelheaded - it's appreciated from this AROHA.

No, I don't find it weird for someone to be nicknamed a common nickname for both idols and pets, especially considering he's been called this before around debut.

What proof does anyone even have saying that he specifically asked to be nicknamed that and that this cat is nicknamed/named that as well as a legit thing? Another thing the girl that spread the images that don't amount to any real "evidence" said? Even if that was the 100% complete proof, I still don't find it weird, no. It's not like the cat's name is Richard and he wants to be nicknamed Richard too.

I don't know why a non-fan would even have such contributions towards an artist and group they don't seem to care about or "stan" to begin with, especially in a negative way, truthfully. But to each their own. You are entitled to think that is weird as is anyone else. What isn't appreciated, however, is the insinuation that one person's "accounts and evidence" somehow is a cause of JinJin's ruin or destruction of the entire group that has worked hard for the past 5+ years to form, debut, and promote with this group - especially in the case of him possibly dating someone that he didn't disclose to his fans or the public (which he shouldn't have to - and neither should anyone else).

Girl I’m not a non fan, I bought the physical version of all light and worked hard as anybody else on streaming >:( I like Astro and if my definition of stan was a bit looser they’d be my #3 group

Coming back to this thread, I'm so glad to see him healthy. I'm not an Astro stan, but no one, regardless of whether they're a celebrity or not, does not deserve that immense amount of hate for feeling healthy emotions. He seems very happy with his girlfriend and her cat, and I honestly could not wish anything but the best for him. He's done nothing wrong to anything, and I genuinely hope he is continues to get the support he deserves. He does not work for 15+ hours a day just to be disrespected because he's functioning like a normal human being. Bless his soul, honestly.
