i do think that love scenario deserved the sotys that it got 100 percent. but even then love scenario lost potential soty daesangs to other groups as well, and d4 was the second biggest hit behind love scenario. if love scenario was gonna lose to anyone then it should have been d4. I mean one of the groups who won song of the year last year was wanna one for their song beautiful at the mgmas, and im sure theyre talented hard-working people but what?? how the hell did they win soty over groups that had national hits like ikon and blackpink. square up was the second best selling album last year digitally and they were behind a full album (love yourself tear), square up only has four songs. and honestly, blackpink should have sweeped girl group of the year at every award show but they didn't even win it once which is disappointing.

Beautiful was actually supposed to be nominated for the award the year it was released but missed the cut off. When Energetic didnt get its SOTY where was this energy? Also please dont discredit other groups like that. I agree BP had an amazing year but they also had intense competition.

Gfriend - TFTMN did extremely well
RV - FIRST SM pak, amazing world tour, and broke 100k sales
Mamamoo - Well they're Mamamoo.
Artists like Heize, Taeyeon, Bol4, etc sweep the charts and still dont get their SOTY. Throwbacks to when Taeyeon released I and it didnt get SOTY, or when Bol4 released galaxy and got neither sf SOTY or AOTY.

Don't forget that part of the criteria these award shows have is judge's vote also.

It’s not their fault they won it, if there’s a problem, then the problem is Genie and that should have been taken up with Genie back then, and if the issue is attendance, then that’s YG’s problem. :/

Exactly, when will ifans realize winning an award won't just happen bcuz your favs did well that year. YG is awful when it comes to award show politics and connections. If YG was besties with Mnet like JYP is or KBS like SM then their artists wouldn't get snubbed. Simple

all I did was ask how beautiful won over groups that had national hits, I never said that the members werent hard working or that they were bad people... yall are acting like I killed one of the members when all I asked was a simple question.
also d4 was the biggest hit that a girl group released last year... they had no competition other then ikon in terms of overall success.
