What exactly are Aespa trendsetting?

I would say both fashion and sonically. They are incorporating cybergoth and nu-metal looks with modern Generation Z fashion to pull off something unique and they are bringing back sounds that would have been called dated otherwise - like all the dubstep style synths. For me they are trailblazers in both regards and I foresee them being very influential on Kpop as a whole moving forward. They are a lot more experimental than the 3rd gen groups like Blackpink.

I love them. For me, they are some of the biggest trendsetters in kpop right now. SM is so daring with their sound and fashion that it’s really refreshing after years of them playing it so boring with Red Velvet.

i agree and i disagree with the rv part because rv's discography is very experimental not boring
or bland by any means
