The funny thing about anger, it's all-encompassing. It shoots down your spine and seeps into your veins and follows the path straight to your heart, and it's pounding, it's pounding so hard and you can't make it stop. And you can't see anything but red, can't feel anything but the burning hot ball of fire threatening to explode out of your chest, can't do anything but push it down and act like nothing is wrong, even though everything is.

Even though the rain beats down on the roof of the train station and the cold creeps inside and settles deep into everyone's bones, when she steps off the train it's like the sun has come out of the clouds. When she opens her umbrella and rushes to meet her family, you can hear the excited laughter even from across the station. The happiness radiating off of her is infectious and you might even smile a little, even if you're just an outsider.
