Announcement Community Update: Donation Cycle & Site Costs (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a small update regarding donations and the future running costs of KpopSource.

For the next donation cycle, I’ve decided that I will no longer be actively asking for donations. Any amount already donated during the current cycle will still be counted and used to offset the total server and site costs.

Once the current cycle ends, the donation page will be taken down, and all future server costs and expenses will be fully borne by me.

My job is stable now, so I’m in a better position to handle the costs myself. Because of work, I may be less active on the forum than before, but I’ll still be around and will continue taking care of the site.

I’ll still be doing bug fixes and development work for around 1–2 hours after work each day, as well as on my off days whenever possible.

Most importantly, KpopSource will remain ad-free, and I’ll continue doing my best to keep it running for the long term.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the site, whether through donations, activity, feedback, or simply being part of the community. Your support has always meant a lot.

tbh it saddens me to see the donations feature go Its been here so long and I always found it to be so sweet, that people loved the forum to donate for it but I can see why it might be removed and I'm also incredibly happy for you that things are stable now

May I ask what will happen to the rewards people used to get from donations? like gif badges/cards/banner and stuff?

I know I haven't been the most active over the years, but I'm here to stay!
Would still love to have donations open anyways for those who want to help you reach those monthly cost.
If not, I totally support and understand your decision.
