I think it is inevitable and as long as I will manage to do it on my own, I know I will have to take care of them. they are the only family I have. I have given up setting my own to be there for them fully because they have no close friends or relatives as they are immigrants here.

not at all but i don't need to think about it so far since my mom is only 50 years old (i expect her to outlive me by the way) and my father lives far away and i don't keep in contact with him for a long time already

you r family is 'healthy' physically but gone mentally . even more unfun its intermittent at times they are lucid and in the present.
Its worse than them being crippling sick.

ofc the big problem is time / how to do it and still work for a living/ when do ya give up and realize that the care is beyond you.

I honestly don't know. Since I work full time and live far away from them, I would probably hire a good caretaker.

Luckily, my parents haven't reached full on dementia or incontinence yet. I considered going to Seoul later this year, but I checked the price of a temporary caretaker and I can't afford it at all. FYI, dad's 90 and mom's 93.

I already do in a way. My mom has to walk with a cane, so sometimes I’ll help her with that.

My parent have money to hired people to take care of them. My parent is still in their early 40s, so it still a long way to think about. 1st problem would be I lived in another country and 2nd is that I am clumsy af and don't trust myself to actually care for them.

Yeah pretty much a no brainer for me, I'm an only child and my parents will need me as they get older. I feel like it's my responsibility after everything they've done for me.

No issues really, I already use to take care of my mother before she died.
Taking care of my father would be a task, my father and I aren't that close as he wasnt in the majority of my life, so I probably won't be taking care of him, his wife probably will.
