Culture Ministry revises industry's standard contract for music artists

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced revisions to the standard contract for artists in an attempt to better the relationships between management agencies and artists through fair contracts.

With the current rule, exceeding 7 years is possible but the termination of the contract can occur at any time after the seven years. With the new rule, the initial contract period cannot exceed seven years. extension of initial contract requires written approval from all parties.

I like that portion of the rule but there is another part of the rule which gives restriction for artists to use their old songs from their previous company. So making it a bit harder for idols to leave their company and move to a new one
