Official Daylight saving time reminder for most of the US and Canada (1 Viewer)

Today is the day time switches back for the US, Canada, possibly other countries too (not Europe though). Let’s hope this is the last time us North Americans have to do this. But if course it means the time that lines up with 0 Kst is later than before by an hour, so don’t forget when the new day starts for cards related things.

If they can all agree on russian sanctions and weapons budget for ukraine they can all agree on daylight savings too. Especially since the talks about dropping dst have been discussed for years. But they can't because unelected officials who are leading eu are useless and incompetent

I don't even need to know if the clock changed or not, we see the difference 😭

I'm from serbia and our time zone is central european or gmt+1. I wish we had +1 or gmt+2 like Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. During december sun sets at 4pm 😭 and during summer, if we didn't have dst, sun would set at 7:30pm 😭 we need that +1! But we want to be in cet and we'll follow EU and whatever they decide. But eu is useless so 😅

Well you can’t really argue that a war is more important than daylight saving time. It is stupid how the EU can’t agree who’s in charge of the next step of the removal process yeah. But while it may be a dumb practice that should be removed, it’s undeniably a much smaller issue than say covid or the Russia Ukraine war, and the Britain not being part of the EU didn’t exactly help considering that getting rid of DST would mean one fairly small island would have 2 time zones, though it is doable. So yeah they may be incompetent, I don’t know much about European politics, but I still don’t think that comparing DST to something much bigger and more important is really good proof of that.

I'm just trying to say that they can make decisions fast if they wanted or cared. It's waaaay more complicated to talk about money and which country is able to send what amount (some countries are rich and some are poor) than for everyone to agree to stick to one timezone.

Well yeah it’s more complicated to do all the war stuff but that still doesn’t mean that the fact that they did war stuff means that they should have done easier less important things instead or even alongside with it because while daylight saving time messes up things for some people, even badly for some, it’s really not comparable to deaths and injuries from a war obviously. If they spend a ton of time on war rather than a smaller amount on daylight savings, can you really say it’s not justified to allocate the time like that? If they have time after other more important things are decided upon they should revisit daylight saving time and they should get their act together instead of saying “x committee needs to vote” “no y committee should vote” “no you” “no you” and so on which sounds like it might be the issue right now. If they have no leftover time after more important issues though then yeah it makes sense to me why they wouldn’t get farther with the process since for most people daylight saving isn’t actually very dangerous, just an annoyance for a few days. But it’s not like I know what they’re spending time on so I can’t say whether they should have passed DST laws yet.

I feel like what @doesitneedsaying tried to say was not that they should focus on the DST issue right now over the war, but if they ever really cared for resolving it, they could have done so a long time ago already

Well that I think just about everyone agrees with, I don’t see how anyone wouldn’t unless they actually like the clock changes which is pretty rare usually.
