I meant in the way that once superm happened people liked the idea of the possibility of a super girl group, making them go like 'what if this member and this member were in the sgg' etc, and I don't really think you can compare how things will work out for a girl group with a boy group which is why I didn't talk much about superm other than that people liked the idea of a possible sgg once superm happened. especially with how different superm and got the beat are being managed

For example, superm and got the beat are marketed and managed differently, with superm we get content from the group and see the interactions between the members which makes the fans worm up to the groups + them having good songs compared to got the beat which we fans only got to the music and performance + many not liking the song they released so far, not to mention that fans were told that this project would be rotational like nct u. sigh I feel like I'm not good at explaining what I mean

there have been some songs that have been performed before the release and that hasn't really killed the hype for those groups

I do find it kind of funny how so many gg fans were all like "we don't need a super bg, we need girls" when SuperM was announced and then this is happening. Sure its part of how they're managed but if those people really wanted a super gg they're not really showing it
Tbh I also didn't know Got the Beat had no variety type content. But yeah it probably does help others with being more in favor of the group (though there's still a lot against SuperM, I've seen nasty comments from shawols especially recently, though I've seen some from Exo-Ls too).

It just frustrates me that people know how vocally good these artists are, but the management keeps messing up. I also think that forcing the SMCU by making their artists adapt the Kwangya concept (aside from it being only Aespa's) is also killing the creativity.

Meh, I feel like people complain a lot more about Kwangya than it actually shows up in anything. 😂 Aside from aespa, it mostly just shows up as a word in a song or two. It’s the same way NCT and EXO have lore but it is completely possible to enjoy their music without knowing about it because it’s usually so subtle new people don’t even know it’s there.

I don't know much about NCT but regarding EXO, they don't even refer to their lore in their songs but have it as the base concept for their MVs. MAMA seems to be the only song slightly referring to it. However, I've hard Kwangya in Zoo (a bop) and even in DFTF.

BoA and Hyoyeon stans were pretty much the only ones looking forward to Stamp on it whereas Luvies and Mys were the most hyped about Step Back and carried it's success. SM pissed off so many fandoms this time around

Releasing it early shouldn't kill it's hype unless the song is bad, which the reviews seem to feel

And now thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if SM's management killed the hype for the group in the GPs eye either.
Step Back was preceded by Taeyeons hit Can't Control Myself, RV bouncing back from hiatus with moderate hit Queendom and Aespa absolutely dominating 2021.

2022 and Aespa had their worst performing year and got dragged to pieces by pretty much every other notable GG due to SM making a huge miscall with Girls, Red Velvet ending the year by releasing another "quirky" title that is tanking, Hyoyeon and BoA flopping but honestly that was a given, Taeyeon not doing any since INVU in Feb, and Seulgi's solo underperforming because, as is the theme last year, SM gave her a bad title

Everyone was at their best for Step Back and their worst for Stamp On It and its sad because it's infinitely better

Yup, lots of fans only want things in theory. Sometimes they even seem to want the things so that the other groups/idol won’t be the center of attention anymore

It's not bad but it's also just kind of generic for SM?
I could BoA doing it, Yunho doing it, Taeyeon doing it, TVXQ doing it, I&S doing it. It fits Seulgi but not the same way Like Water and Hello fit Wendy and Joy like gloves

I'll give you that. It does lack a little something that makes it Seulgi's specifically, though I'm curious if between that and Monster if that's the general musical direction she prefers. Maybe she just needs more time to solidify that.
