Did releasing a stage of Stamp On It before its release kill its hype? (1 Viewer)

I think so. It definitely should’ve made much more noise considering GOT the Beat are SM’s female supergroup. You would have Jumping Boa’s, SONE’s, MY’s and Reveluv’s who would be paying attention to GOT the Beat. But when the MV was released, it was relatively quiet. Did SM releasing the stage video weeks prior kill its hype?

I think so. There's nothing left to discuss about the song. It should have been treated as a pre-release and then have a different song promoted to celebrate the album. Or the other way around (e.g. maybe Outlaw should have been a pre-release stage performance, and then Stamp On It MV for the album release).

It kind of reminds me of them killing the interest in aespa's Life's Too Short, instead of immediately acting on the Coachella hype and releasing an MV right away.

I do agree with you. They could’ve picked another song to promote for the stage. Releasing Stamp On It so early killed its hype. Most artists promote for about 2-4 werks and that’s approximately how long the stage MV was out before the MV so people want something new and shiny

nah, I think people at first just were hyped about the idea of a super girl group (because of superm) so their first song was bound to make some noise and do well since people were curious + the controversy about the songs lyrics. other than that no one really wants this except a few fans + boa fans tho she doesn't really have that many fans + the song not being public-friendly.

plus there is the thing about how this group is being managed as well as the other fandoms wanting sm to focus on the main groups instead, mys are pretty angry about aespa not having a comeback, reveluvs wants a full album, and sones wants taeyeon to have a comeback as well. So I think they lost the hype a long time ago
