Toei revealed a promotional video, two visuals, and the February 21, 2020 premiere date on Sunday for the Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna anime film.

The taglines on the teaser visual below read, "We will always be together," and, "We walk together with Digimon, toward all the 'children.'"

Toei also revealed an image visual for the film (below). "The Future of Digimon" panel at Anime Expo revealed on Saturday that Tomohisa Taguchi (four-part Persona 3 the Movie film series, Kino's Journey - The Beautiful World, Twin Star Exorcists) is directing the film at Yumeta Company. Akatsuki Yamatoya (Digimon Adventure, Digimon Frontier, Digimon: Data Squad) is writing the screenplay, and Seiji Tachikawa (Kino's Journey - The Beautiful World, Blue Spring Ride) is the chief animation director. Toei Animation is credited for production.

As previously announced, Hiromi Seki, Toei Animation's original producer for the Digimon anime projects, is serving as the supervisor of the new film project. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru is also returning from the first Digimon anime projects as the new film project's character designer. Kenji Watanabe is designing the Digimon monsters for the new project, as he has done for the previous Digimon projects.

The cast members are reprising their roles from the Digimon Adventure tri. anime film series. The cast includes:

I've never actually gotten into Digimon as a kid, I wasn't a huge fan. I hope Pokemon can end too, tbh. The new one is ugly. Props to Digimon for ending to protect our childhoods.

I loved Digimon Adventure S1 & S2 as a child. I could never get into the spin off sequel shows that were released though. But then Digimon Adventure Tri came out to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the show, and I enjoyed that. And I know that I am going to enjoy this film to celebrate the 20th Anniversary.

And one of the things that I really liked about this show is that unlike in Pokemon, the cast of characters actually age throughout! S1 they were around 10. S2 they were JHS students. Adventure Tri they were around their late teens. And in the upcoming film the cast are going to be in their early/mid 20's....

I loved Digimon Adventure S1 & S2 as a child. I could never get into the spin off sequel shows that were released though. But then Digimon Adventure Tri came out to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the show, and I enjoyed that. And I know that I am going to enjoy this film to celebrate the 20th Anniversary.

Toei (who animated the original series) are back to animate the newest film though, so the characters have been redesigned again. But it is quite easy to guess who is who.

I've rewatched S1 and S2 with my two eldest daughters. So that was a great experience for me. Because I really enjoy rewatching my childhood shows with them and seeing them enjoying Digimon the same way that I did at their ages.

Yeah, I feel like you don't really "grow" with Ash. He's the exact same. No character development. Lost the League every year though being deemed as one of the best trainers. Is still immature. And, teenage romance or early 20's romance is definitely less odd than a 10 year old kissing not one, but TWO girls. They were in different seasons, so I guess he isn't that much of a player. The older Pokemon girls (Dawn and anyone before) were much better.

You were either in the Tai x Sora or Matt x Sora camp lol

In my opinion, the canon games also kind of went downhill after Black/White 2. I don't really like the 3-D thing going on, but probably because I miss the OG style.

Even if Team Rocket was there, in X/Y, James's voice sounded like a 45 year old heavy smoker. I don't know why they didn't stick to the original character as well. The art style isn't "Pokemon". I think they tried to make the show too modern, and ended up failing, miserably.

The only Pokemon generation that deserves plushies are the earlier generations. Even in America, the merchandise is almost NEVER the newer Pokemon. Sometimes, I use Pokemon Showdown when I'm bored once in a blue moon(a pokemon battle simulator that's online in which you can battle in whatever generation you'd like) and if you look at the newer Pokemon, they make no sense. There are new types, new abilities, hundreds of new Pokemon, and they don't even look like Pokemon. Pokemon are supposed to look like animals.

is not an animal. It's literally a golden nut with a blob of jelly under it. I understood when they did it in Gen 4, but the Pokemon designs now aren't even cute. They're obviously running out of ideas, it was obvious with mega evolutions. If they kept Pokemon as a light-hearted, cute anime as it was in the 90's and early 00's, I wouldn't really mind them stretching it out for this long. But the show is 22 years old now, I think it's time to discontinue it.

Ofc I will watch it and I love to see them a little bit older. They age like we do! But please...Yamato's hair is hopefully not that ugly yellow ( I liked the Tri version)
