Do forum friendships mean a lot to you? (1 Viewer)

There are some users I've gotten really close to over the years but other than those few the rest are just casual friendships to me

I believe there are boundaries that are appropriate that distinguish relationships on KS. But then again there are some things I wouldn't bring up around any friends. I think generally there is a gradation of friends on KS going from closest to distant. Plus the transiency of KS can make it so people who you are close to on here are not here any longer. I was really close to users who briefly migrated from akp, but I haven't talked to in a couple years. But yeah. If you spend time responding to peoples posts you will eventually get to know them and post on their profile page and have discussions about any number of things and develop relationships [platonic ones]. Friendships are always based around common threads of interests and in-group solidarity. Given that k-pop is an interest that many in the west deride, it helps to form in group solidarity around the interest and form friendships quickly. Why are the bullied kids who play d&d so close... same thing

ive met some who ive had a steady friendship for years now and i honestly think id be quite different as a person if i hadn't met them

They used to when I was still active on another forum, but most of them died or aren't the same as before and I don't have any friends here so not really. But something I learnt was that is really hard to build a long term online friendship.
While it was hard for me to accept for a long time, I'm really ok with it now. That's just how life works.

I have a few friends. Some are more close than others but I appreciate every companion I have here because they’ve made the forum experience 100x more enjoyable and worth it There’s a couple that I treasure a lot because of how open we’ve been☺The rest I know I can casually have a conversation with and have their back when they need it
