The cute concept suffers from a mixture of the groups known for it either getting old and switching concepts or going inactive but also that the girl crush concept is more trendy right now so more groups are going down that route.

Quite hard to find, I guess most agencies want to appeal to the west so bubblegum pop became less prominent since it is a style criticized by a lot of people for being too childish or fetishization and all that. Add age on top of that and you can see why girl crush is more preferred. To do bubblegum pop permanently you would need an everlasting youthful face, but as girls get older they would want something more mature.
