I'm supposed to be going to Hong Kong for a layover between Tokyo and London later this month but because of the ongoing situation I've been keeping a close eye on the escalating situation and looking into changing my layover to either Seoul or Singapore.

And as a result of keeping an eye on what's been going on over there, I came across this tweet today... [Be warned the content is very distressing]





A 10 year old girl arrested..... A 10 year old girl who is shaking from the terror and fear of police who are heavily armed standing right in front of her.

Are you fucking kidding me?

My emotions are so mixed on this. My heart is breaking for this poor girl, and at the same time I can feel the anger rising up inside me.

Do I still want to go to a place where the police, who are supposed to protect, are doing shit like this to girls who are the same age as my eldest daughter? I think of my daughter and the thought of these vile scumbags doing the same thing to her. Putting her through the same fear that this young girl has been put through. And it fucking angers me. It really fucking angers me.

I wouldn't way to lay over in HK either. Police have gone and proved they really don't care who they target. I have people on FB from HK and China and sht people don't see. It's up to you, I wish you well on your travels.

PS: I highly doubt this will be resolved in a month. China won't stop until HK is absolutely crushed.

I'm following quite a few accounts that are posting incidents of the police brutality that the media won't publicise. But I can only imagine the stuff that's going on which has also been missed/not posted by these accounts.


It's very nerving right now though but I feel that the only way I can get around this (without another closure of HK Airport occurring) is paying for new flights with a different airline so that my layover can be in either Seoul or Singapore.

Don't go past security lines only go as far as you have to. Most importantly avoid eye contact.

In other China bully BS did you hear about that 15 yo girl Kazakh police arrested she was out shopping with her mother and two younger sisters. They claimed she was part of the anit-Chinese protest. Yeah Kazakhstan isn't China but Chinese hold a massive influence in that country. Also the ongoing persecution of Muslims in China as they are sent to be "re-educated".

Seriously China lately has been nothing but fudged up. They know no one will stand against them to stop what they do. Who the frack wants to go to war with CHina, NM that their closest ally is RUssia.

Back to HK I agree what was said. In the following months look for missing posters and suicides and compare them to the protesters arrested

It's rly sad situation. I have some friends from HK on FB as well and they have been sharing what is going on there a bit once a while, doesn't look too good. When i spoke with some of them back at summer when they were visiting Finland, they said that they also hope there will be independence day one day for HK and I found it quite sad, independence and indepence day are one of most important days in Finland.

Vacation in HK doesn't sound that good right now if you don't want to get caught between police and protesters so Seoul or Singapore is definitely safer. Sigh, i feel like poor HongKongers will get opposite than what they wanted due to the situation. I can only see China trying to control HK more after this.
