Seems like a lot of people just put them on the shelf and gather dust, but does anyone actually look through them often?

Sometimes. My nephew whenever he comes into my room will grab a random one and ask me about it. He'll also grab his own album (Kyungsoo's version of Exodus) and give me a running commentary of it.
