I drink chai(Indian tea) so if you don’t add a bit of sugar, the tea spices will be too overpowering to consume well.

i drink tea with regular or low-fat or evaporated milk but no sugar(now, but i used to in my younger days). or i drink chinese tea-which no one i know of has ever added sugar to it, in the thousands of years of history of tea (tho wikipedia says salt was sometimes added).
