inadvertently buy/cook the wrong food and realize it only after eating it??

Happened to me and the ham I had to eat tasted like a salt brick, which was when my mom and I realized that we bought the wrong ham (as in buying the hardwood smoked instead of regular smoked).

once when I was in middle or high school, I tried to make oatmeal pie, but instead I made an oatmeal CAKE... I mean, it was still good and everything, but I wanted a pie! lol
