I probably worded the title really badly, but basically, how do you feel about the media's representation of the various social groups you belong to? Do you think there's enough representation or could there be more?

Personally, I dislike a lot of the media/pop culture's representation of women, but in recent years it's been getting better. Same with Asian representation. Especially with Kpop's rise in popularity and with movies such as Crazy Rich Asians, there's been a lot more gppd/well-written Asian representation in American mass media.​

nah. there isn't a lot of people I've seen on TV who are African American and Mexican like me and not a lot of them are nonbinary. Most nonbinary characters are pale or not human at all so it's kinda weird. And mixed actors are usually half white and half black not half Mexican and half black so even if the actor or even voice actor of a character is mixed like I am, their character isn't and the character is the first thing you see from actors/voice actors

I feel like Ireland is not that often portrayed in the media.
But apparently we all have red hair and freckled skin

There is also barely anything about aromantic out there

Not particularly... But then I've never cared about media representation as much growing up and the times I did I went searching for some and found a decent few...
But for me no one can trully represent everything I am and I'm fine with that.
But it is important for a lot of people growing up, self esteem wise and for familiarity and comfort especially since more people are susceptible to media and social media these days

Can't say really as I don't consume a lot of media but I also am not bothered by it as it won't affect how I am at the end of the day

I agree with this
I especially don't like men's portrayal of women in books and movies. We always seem kinda dumb, shallow and seem to only care about our appearance and money
I watched one movie today and it really pissed me off

not really in western media? its getting a bit better but I struggle to relate to the characters a lot

no. theres only a single handful of canonically nonbinary characters i can think of. most of the characters i think are nonbinary are all just headcanons; how i interpret them, but its unofficial.
and unfortunately, like kokoswrld above mentioned, a lot of the nonbinary characters aren't even human; a lot are robots. (don't get me wrong, i love robot characters; they often end up my favorites but we need human reps as well)
i cant even list panromantic or asexual characters either.

Let's see... A gay epileptic who doesn't conform to gay male beauty standards... I don't see a lot of that in the media. The closest would be Max from Happy Endings. lol
