I have ghosted irl ppl for so long by accident or by sucking at planning at sucking at keeping in touch I’m just such an ass

This is so my fault

I even ghosted a teacher sort of cuz the 6th grade nutrition teacher said the kids who were moving away (I moved after 6th grade and went to a different school) could find her email on the school website and then should email her over the summer and keep in touch but I never emailed her. She was even scolding this other kid she thought wouldn’t email her. But then I didn’t and still haven’t. It’s not like I didn’t plan to but I’m so so horrible at planning and time management and then I didn’t get to and 7th grade started and then it’s been a year and then I was just like it’s been too long

not to mention irl friends

I understand this to a degree. I just messaged an irl friend that I haven’t spoken to since November 2022 and we literally lived next door to each other in dorms. And I had someone at my co-op placement in 12th grade (so four years ago) say to email her if I ever needed a reference or if I ever wanted to talk… 4 years later and I still haven’t. It’s been too long at this point.

You’re not an ass, it happens. The amount of people I said I would keep in touch with after elementary school, and then again after high school, and then again after my first college program, and then never did 💀

i even do my brother and he gets so mad

for you guys it’s diff cuz it’s completely online but irl friends I prefer hanging out with irl

with texting i either don’t get around to it even tho I mean to or avoid it bc when I do I spend hours talking and don’t get anything done (when I do text)

or it’s doing smth stupid like my current situation for years now has been I am replying to everything in order so I have to get thru my emails all from years ago before the texts after that and I am even two years behind on saying thanks to birthday wishes from my friends bc I’m such an ass

i get bored texting if its someone I have the means to see on a semi-regular basis. Ofc online friends is a different story. And its not always boredom, I often legitimately just forget to talk to people. My brother moved out in August and I maybe talk to him once a week or two, I ghost him unintentionally because I simply forget people exist when they aren’t in my immediate attention. I think I’m probably the worst when people send me song recommendations, I say I will listen to them, and never do. And then feel bad that I haven’t so I don’t message them.

not really, i'm not that kind of person.
most of them i do it intentionally to people who i don't want to see them. it hurts you know if you ghosted them especially when they did nothing wrong

I haven't, when I've had to ghost someone it's not an accident and usually for a reason
maybe with some old acquaintances from hs, but that was more naturally drifting than ghosting~
I try to keep track of all my contacts so I don't end up accidentally ghosting

Yes with online friends. Sometime I miss a notification. Other time it because I have no idea what to say so I decide to leave it for later but forgot about replying back.

Sometime I would actually type a whole reply back, but forget to press send.
