Almost everywhere i visit, kpop discussion has devolved to bragging about achievements and wanting validity or the discussion will simply turn into plain negative insults/heated debate. I know this has been the case since long ago but i had hoped the state of it will improve over time. I guess this is the only place for me to get away from all that and enjoy the limited time i have after work to enjoy kpop.

I know right, it is the obsession with achievements that puzzles me, its fine to be happy that your faves has done well, but the weird passive aggressiveness and comparing groups with it is a whole another level of crazy.

Forums are usually good for discussions, though it kinda depends on how defensive the fans are and how you voice ur opinion

True, I really don't wanna see any stats or achievements talks anymore unless it's about Brave Girls finally getting some justice

But yeah, this started first with Youtube numbers, and then charts- PAKs, RAKs, CAKs, and then Unique Listeners and now sales and pre-orders and music show wins, who's faves are least problematic and so on
Kpop is the only place where fans feel "special" for liking the super mainstream popular groups and getting to use it in online arguments.

I just follow artists and try to keep up what is going on with them. Sadly twitter is pretty much only place like t hat..
