No, if it’s something I know I’m good at if people compliment me I’m scared of becoming arrogant so I prefer criticismI like it! Its always nice when someone says something nice about me![]()
I think you are the type to overthink a lotNo, if it’s something I know I’m good at if people compliment me I’m scared of becoming arrogant so I prefer criticism
if it’s something which I don’t deserve or isn’t rlly true I feel guilty
and otherwise it just makes me shy
sometimes it’s nice occasionally and does make me feel appreciated tho
yes ofc, you would like to hear "wow that cake you made tastes great" but not "wow you have such a pretty face"depends on the type of compliment like id rather get complimented on the stuff i do rather than a direct compliment about myself if that makes sense
the latter makes me feel incredibly weird lol
this is cute, what advice does he give you?Whenever I get a complient I have to ring up dad to say what do I do lol!
'Its a good thing son, just accept the compliment' dad.this is cute, what advice does he give you?![]()
I'm not overthinking? Not for compliments. I just know that I have a tendency of getting a big head sometimes, like let's say I do something smart, and a bunch of people tell me I'm smart, I'd get a big head about being smart or think I'm smarter than others (internally, not treat people any worse), and that's a problem, so I'd prefer to avoid it. Especially because one of my greatest fears is becoming complacent, so I always want to continually improve and learn and have that hunger rather than be completely satisfied. Especially because when you are blinded by pride, it's a lot easier to be oblivious of flaws.I think you are the type to overthink a lot
But I'm gald you can also appreciate it sometimes![]()
I see your point, especially for getting blinded by pride and overlooking flawsI'm not overthinking? Not for compliments. Like if I do something and I'm really proud of it, and then someone criticizes it, sure it hurts a little, but that criticism helps me to do even better next time, and it's better than if I just continued thinking it was great and making a fool of myself, rather than being realistic, having an inflated sense of my skills or an inflated sense of self worth
I'd rather be humble
For something I don't deserve, if someone tells me I'm so responsible bc they think I was productive for 5 hours, and I was only productive for 2 hours, it's of course not true and I'd feel guilty.
And for them making me shy, it's not really overthinking, I'm just shy lol
The act of giving a genuine compliment and positive reinfocement is one I appreciate tho, but do I look for them, usually no
A thank you, or I appreciate you, if that counts as a compliment I do appreciate tho bc it makes me feel appreciated
In those cases heck yeah, that's better than not saying anything
Or a compliment after I do something hard or wtv that's nice
Ah but let’s say you’re level 5 and think ur great you can’t go to someone level 20 and tell them you’re greatI see your point, especially for getting blinded by pride and overlooking flaws
Thinking you are smarter then others is not bad per se (when it is true), as long as you don't think you know everything better and disregard any input you are getting from them
Also I think you are not making a fool out of yourself for thinking something you made is great, even if it gets cricitzed. It can still be great, even if it has flaws![]()
As long as you are aware of your level, you won't make that mistake, but there is alsom no need to downlpay your skillsAh but let’s say you’re level 5 and think ur great you can’t go to someone level 20 and tell them you’re great
That’s why I need the criticism, to be aware of my levelAs long as you are aware of your level, you won't make that mistake, but there is alsom no need to downlpay your skills![]()
