it’s fun to go hang out with friends but I hate that everything is so expensive

I do see your point. Beer can cost from $3-10, whereas from the store it would be $7-10 for a 12 pack... Maybe there could be alternatives to bars that aren't that expensive as a means of social engagement.

Personally, I never really liked bars. Only times I went were when required or if they were attached to a restaurant.

I like chill bars that are maybe bit on fancier side. Lot of bars are pretty grimy or too loud for me..

I prefer the Working Man's club near me. Drinks are way cheaper and they're generally more chill and fun.

Bars over clubs yes, somewhere you can sit, drink and chat without getting drowned in music preferably.
But usually I just drink at home or some friend's place.
