Do you like mystery boxes? (1 Viewer)

[centen]

I only like them if I know I can't get a duplicate and I know I'll be reasonably happy with getting any of the options. I see people who buy mystery boxes for things they already have tons of, and all I can think is, why not just buy the exact one you're looking for? But maybe the thrill is in not knowing vs getting something new.

That's why I only get them if I know all of the available options, I'd be okay with getting Otherwise, it's just paying money for (potentially) garbage.

[Selfmate]

are we talking virtual loot box "mystery boxes" or physical ones?

[pinkmelodies]

I love the surprise element but hate that I don't get what I want

Either.

It never works out for me if I only REALLY want one particular result.

[Selfmate]

Either.

never really got into games with virtual loot boxes
but for physical ones occasionally I will buy my son something like a kinder surprise (not sure if you guys have them) or other mystery eggs than contain a random toy or something

Those can be fun! I think the chocolate would help gloss over any mediocre toys.

well they do cost like a dollar or so thus the mediocrity of the toy is arguable lol

The mediocrity is kind of an expected part of the package deal, eh?

kinder eggs was always good for that

[Ahsoka]

I don't see much of a point in cases where you could get something you have already, unless it's very low ig
