I don't really have a preference on either. It's getting less common to have official center in newer groups.

The center is pointless and unnecessary as far as fans but I think it helps in choreo.

i appreciate when a company Picks some one, saying this is who the team is. the failure to do this i think really hurts mid tier groups like say a rocket punch. Really hurt Kep1er. If they had just said Chae wadada canter then its Xiaoting in Korea and one of teh J line in Japan. done.

i dont mind if they pick i per song kinda AKB ish. but make a decision. It also why i refuse to follow company survival shows . pick a dang team, man up for peets sake.

now the face ends up being someone who goes public/big with out that advantage.

i said it the day she won cant really have teh main vocal as the center. They can be in teh center alot see taeyeon / jessica.

but ya gotta have balance, and the mains are focus very often anyway.

many time the center is a dancer since they need to hold the focus thru non highlight parts.
Look at the ones i listed and most times they are in the tall line if not the tallest. (Irene is an exception to that)

I can even buy the visual (which is ALSO Xiaoting) being the center... The stupidity at WAKEONE never ceases to amazing me. Wasn't there a lot of rumors that Sakura actually won produce but they couldn't have a foreigner win it so Wonyoung was up? Sometimes I think being all knowing would be fun... but then I remember I would then know the extent of the stupidity in this world.

i think much of the bitterness over Kep1er has less to do with who made the group but the ranking .. which is dumb.
For example if Hunning B were like 7,8,9 ppl would have been more chill. the final ranking were such a differance from before.

but as someone who watched it and was in Korea and actually visited show locations during the show(talking to ppl on the street).
PD 48 was Korean only voting, and they went pretty ballistic over 7 j members in the ep 11 ranking.

My belief is the whole reason the pd cheated is because on the Tuesday before the final (when they decided to rig after seeing the interim rankings)
{very similar to the gp999 interim ranking there was one non Korean in the debut group, and she was not named Sakura}

So he took Sakura and the cutest of the remaining j girls and axed the 2 least cute ( in his opinion aka Kaeun and Chowon)Koreans that were in the group.

Xiaoting similarly was not in the Tuesday debut group (16th).
gp 999 handled it by publishing the ranking and panicking ppl also changing the weight of votes on the final day from 7x to 2 x.
