This isn't a judgment on either category of songs, btw. Just thought it'd be a fun question!

Both. It depends on the song.

So i definitely prefer one over the other

Classic, I suppose. I don't listen to it much either way. Last Christmas is the exception. I'll listen to that any time of year.

I do love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra songs! I'm not a big fan of the classics, but I don't mind the classic-sounding Kpop songs (generally, anyway. I still prefer them more upbeat, like Dear Santa or Beautiful Christmas).

That's also taste. Christmas songs tend to be a little saccharine, and not always in the enjoyable way.
