if you couldn't already guess... i'm procrastinating.

i have a project due tomorrow for ap world history and i've been trying to work on it all day long but i keep procrastinating or getting distracted.

i know why i procrastinate though, if i get really focused and try to get everything done the perfectionism jumps out and i get very overwhelmed. basically procrastinating is my unhelpful coping mechinism.

so, how about you?

do you procrastinate? why?

I do all the time, usually just because of laziness and because like you said it can be overwhelming when getting certain things done.

I procrastinate because I'm too overconfident honestly. I leave everything to the last minute assuming it's too easy to actually worry about. So then I end up just doing it right before it's due. Sometimes I even hand it in late because there's only a 5% penalty so I just tell myself that if I get 100% then it'll just go down to 95% and my GPA won't be affected and I'll only actually need to be worried if I get under 80%... I'm next level self-assured and arrogant lol

I do it due to a mix of laziness and the lack of idea on what to do for my tasks.

Literally right now I'm procrastinating on a drawing assignment that I have because I don't know what to draw in the first place....

Then there are the professors who only give A's if the paper is of a high enough caliber to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal committee.

I don't think that's how it is with my course. Our grading system is a bit different (like you get H1, H2B, H2A etc. instead and H1 is from 80-100%) and you get high grades as long as you stick to the grading criteria. So as long as you know the material and can answer according to the criteria then a high grade isn't impossible. I study hard in general so when it comes to assignments I end up leaving it to the last minute because I know I can do it and still receive the grades I want. Obviously if it's an assignment that actually requires more work and I can't get away with leaving it to the last minute, I'll start earlier but with essays and posters and whatever not, I just don't see the need. Like I said, I'm overconfident when it comes to my skills so I end up procrastinating until the very last minute. The main trouble I usually have when it comes to my work is sticking to the word limit. If I ever lose grades it's because I wrote too much...

Well if i'm overhelmed or stressed out is one reason so that's same. I guess the difficulty to just start working and get into it, it's easier to procastinate. :jisoosmh:

nope. I rather start on it the moment I get it so I don't work on it the last moment. The sooner I get work done the sooner I can enjoy my free time.
