Do you think kpop is better than American pop? (1 Viewer)

Something that I've seen numerous while being a kpop fan was the whole "Kpop is better than American pop!" thing. I don't agree with this at all, but I wanted to know what your thoughts were on this.

I'm speaking in terms of music. I don't care about the visual or which industry is better or worse (because they're both terrible in their own ways). This isn't about who has better looks or a better industry. I just want to talk about the music.

Personally, I don't like think one is better than the other. I've enjoyed them both a lot throughout my life. I used to listen to almost nothing but kpop, but nowadays it's the opposite. I listen to more pop, rock, pop punk, etc. because that's just what I've preferred to listened to for a while. And I haven't liked a lot of kpop releases from this year either, even from my faves. I still listen to a little bit of kpop, but not nearly as much as I used to.

Anyways, what's your opinion on this? Do you think kpop is better than western pop music, or vice versa? Or are they equally good to you? Or is one genre a little bit better than the other?

I prefer kpop over american pop music wise, since I personally find a lot more variety in kpop than American pop.

I think that kpop is usually EXECUTED better than most western pop music but musically, I'd probably lean more towards western pop just because I think a lot of the times, kpop groups kinda get stuck with this fixation on "the title track".

I like both equally. Even though I listen to K-Pop an awful lot.
I also listen to western/american pop just as much.

Music to me, is better when appreciated from all sides.
Limiting yourself to one race or country doing the type of music, also limits your awareness of what's out there I feel.

I like K-Pop a little bit more TODAY than I like Ameri-pop, for sure, but I enjoy both -- musically speaking. If we're talking about the total package, choreos alone would have me in the k-pop camp. Also, K-Pop MVs? Yeah, way better than Ameri-Pop MVs today, imo.

I have not bought anything except j or kpop since 2010.
Nothing i have heard interested me enough to
A ) listen again
B) look for it on Youtube
C) buy the album.

When i do listen to non j/k pop is classic rock/ 80/90/s pop / CW of which i have 100's of albums.

Wait i did look for a Lindsay sterling number some years back.
