U dont need to wash rice if ur rice is already free of impurities(also if the rice u buy is fortified with nutrients n vitamins, washing tat rice removes those nutrients n vitamins).

Here everybody mostly/or always washes rice before cooking.(i dont cook rice now, or only years ago n NOT often)

Japanese household here, and we always wash our rice (5 washes) and leave it to soak in water for an hour before cooking it.

The video says tat western packaged rice are the ones tat shdnt be washed; i think 25 lbs bsgs of rice are probably not the same ones tat are fortified with vitamins n nutrients. They might even be imported from countries where the rice isnt processed to remove the impurities.

If u read the packaging, u might see if its from Asia or imported rice?

it's Jasmine rice from Thailand yep, they probably need to be washed
