Does Kwangya Bother you? (1 Viewer)

I mean Kwangya itself doesn’t bother me as aespa’s concept alone, but when it incorporates itself on to other groups it does bother me. SM has been changing the concept and music of other SM groups just to fit the concept of Kwangya and that kinda upsets me a little bit.

So what do you guys think about it?

yeah i hate it lol the whole smcu concept is so corny i mean i don't mind aespa doing it as long as lee soo man keeps away that idea that he had a while ago of ai versions of idols that everyone could 'own' but putting it in lyrics and videos of all artists even the 2nd gen ones is a no from me... the day they make BoA do it is when that guy throwing eggs at mbk is going to have a successor in me.

I agree that 2nd gen groups shouldn’t be incorporated it doesn’t suit their style, but it seems like LSM is pushing the idea onto these groups.

honestly idc because I never would have noticed a korean word popping up more frequently amongst a company's releases
I just treat it as another word that's there, don't really care about lyrics all that much in kpop so that might be another reason

I mean i do find the word kwangya popping up in some lyrics which is fine, but sometimes the whole concept and music of the video is changed to fit the storyline of SMCU which kinda irks me a little.

fair, while I do think people are bit over on the smcu is shoved in everywhere reaction (because frankly some of the links aren't that big), the issue of timing releases properly is what annoys me
superm got delayed, which got aespa debut delayed, which is likely getting smnbg delayed, it piles up

I don’t see why it was added into EXO’s comeback. EXO have had their own not from Earth concept since they began. Even the name EXO itself means outer, in their case a planet from outside our own solar system. It makes zero sense to include them in Kwangya.

It was included in Super Junior comeback too and they have their own label which doesn’t make sense either. All the songs they proposed to SM got rejected because it didn’t fit in with SMCU concept, i guess that happened to EXO too..

The idea behind it is cool but I agree that it fits Aespa so they should restrict it to them. Anyway I don't really care while it's just a word on the song lol not that relevant

pretty much the same as what everyone else is saying; it should basically be an aespa-only thing, as that their concept. maybe if they wanted to throw in an easter egg but changing the other groups' concepts to fit it is... annoying and stupid.

Probably. It just feels weird because Kwangya goes against EXO’s entire concept they’ve had for the best part of a decade. SuJu too, let them be after sixteen years.
