For my laptop. I can just feel the end of its working period approaching. No system will be able to escape its grasp. I may be dramatic but I do think it's time is limited, and that it could decide to be done at any moment. It's already not working as a typical one would, and I have had a couple heart attacks because of it. Why can't technology work forever, that would be nice.

That's why I like Desktop PCs. Often you can lengthen their life by updating their hardware. It's possible with Laptops too, but to a lesser extent.

You hopefully made backups of your important data? Ideally multiple backups?

I've opened the card list a fair number of times
My issue I feel like can be summed up with a rhyme you might know, at least the darkest interpretation.

I don't have all that much stuff that's truly super important but I have been making some backups of the important stuff I do have. There's still some that I should probably do though.

I just bought a new desktop.
13thn gen I7 :) since my current one struggles to reboot( ie it never restarts i have to push the start button .. and then force hard reboot since that does not start either ). among assorted issues.

now if only i can get well enough to spend teh time to get it up and running move all teh music video ect.... :)

I don't have all that much stuff that's truly super important but I have been making some backups of the important stuff I do have. There's still some that I should probably do though.

It's best to finish backing up your data now or as soon as possible while it's still barely working because you do not want to gamble with how much longer the laptop will last since there's a high chance it could suddenly stop when you least expect it.
