Apparently Dune is a really popular book series, haven't heard anything from it before, but I lowkey don't get the hype, the trailer looks like the movie is only going to be conversations for about an hour and a half and everything else packed into the last 30 minutes

Dune is probably one of the most popular scifi books, but I haven't read it myself yet
The books are really long and this movie only covers half of the first book
I think I'm gonna watch it, bc I also like some of the actors

Dune is the text book for political fantasy.

this is at least the 4th remake. there was even a mini series.

the first book is awesome
books 2,3 are ok 4-6 are .... and most take the new stuff (co written by his son and poul anderson i think.) with a bucket of salt.

book 1 is small (500pgs ) well for me i am used to 900 - 1000 page books as big )

problem is there are a massive amount of named people to keep track of.
book 2 is tiny

not sure about bad its just really really hard to tell the story in 2 hours.
its so dependent on a zillion plot lines and toons.

many ppl really liked the series.

It is a strange universe ill give some points.

thinking machines are banned so they have mutated, selected and chemically altered humans for some of those functions.

The entire universe is dependent on a drug(s) that only comes from Dune.

galactic wide feudal system.

Space travel utterly controlled by 1 group.

Yet again they refuse to address that stilllsuits by function have to have full helmets.

this a huge problem with trying to make movies of these types of stories. better to just go wit some type of face guard they lift.

since the majority of your water loss is thru the head, and being in open desert with an uncovered head is a goo way to die ...fast.
