Castlevania

Anime/Fantasy/Action

Dracula threatens humanity in Medieval Eastern Europe and a rag tag band of heroes takes on a quest to destroy him.

A dark fantasy anime with a mature witty feel that is exciting with a lot of dark humor. Like a fun dark D&D adventure.




Evil

Drama/Fantasy/Crime Procedural

A non believing female forensic psychologist is hired by the Catholic Church to investigate demonic possessions and other supernatural phenomen.

Really fun and unique take on the crime procedural. This time it takes on a supernatural bent. Dark and mysterious but never too bleak. Has fun with its horror.



Mr. Sunshine

Korean Drama/Romance/Historical

A former Korean slave who was raised in America returns to his homeland in the late 1800s to take revenge on those who wronged him amidst political turmoil between Japanese and American forces vying for control of Korea.

Beautiful and epic historical romance. With gorgeous cinematography and high level performances of a stellar cast. A prestige show.

I've watched most of Castlevania and the first few episodes of Evil (it's airing weekly in the UK...), haven't watched Mr Sunshine though...

How'd you like Castlevania and Evil so far?

If you like epic historical romances I can't recommend Mr. Sunshine enough. It's so beautiful and moving.

I watched Castlevania mostly as background noise to be honest, it never really kept my full attention. Evil has been REALLY GOOD so far but my parents said this week's episode wasn't as good, I haven't watched it yet though...

Recently released anime Blood of Zeus is also by the makers of Castlevania, give it a go if you're interested, though it's not something entirely original but still enjoyable.
