English Version of Taemin's Want Released??? (I don't have a better title) (1 Viewer)

So I was reading a global pop newsletter when some comments pointed out that this song by Norwegian twins Marcus and Martinus (they represented Sweden in this year's Eurovision) is an official English version of Taemin's I want



I know there are instances where two versions of the same song exist, particularly with SM, but last time I knew they kinda stopped that in the early 2010s?? So I'm kinda susprised to see a Western release of Want/Love Flows appear.

What do you think? Personally it's hard to go with Want but Love Flow has more biting production and I don't mind the lyrics.

Sidenote but I believe the Eurovision to K-pop pipeline is real and I can't believe it's not vice versa

oh wow! i don't pay attention to eurovision (or european pop in general except for like abba? with a side of maneskin? don't kill me guys) but this is pretty cool, want is probably my fav taemin title and i like love flows, but i'm not sure if i can compare the two rn, both are great

korean musicians making korean versions of western songs is very old and has been a Thing for ages, long before k-idol pop was a thing - and sm ent was obviously not the only culprit. thing is however, especially when you go further back in time, a lot of the korean versions were... often not "official" can could straight up be called plagiarism. it's kinda nice to see the reverse happen, especially when you know that a lot of shinee's older songs were korean versions of english language european pop songs

How I feel about it. Taemin has a more sultry seductive vine to it which is irreplicable but Marcus and Martinus does the writing justice too

It's so nice to see. I'm surprised something like this has happened this year though cause as you said this is an old practice
