Culture is a huge part of most Asian countries which as a tourist you can get away with unless you do something just outright disrespectful and there's societal issues for most that go deeper than issues European countries have so there would be a steep learning curve for most people from the west even in the most progressive Asian countries.

It may look great from an outside view but there's another whole world underneath that most people would only find out about it when they have gone there to experience it.
