Ever Gotten Stitches? (1 Viewer)

I slammed into a gate at my job like a month ago and
busted my eyebrow open. Had to go to urgent care and get stitches.
I've only gotten stitches for another emergency and that was when I was like...
a baby.

So that was a fun experience.

What about you? Ever had stitches and what for?​

I seriously think the stitches were unnecessary for my injury because it stopped bleeding but I guess since it wasn't closed that made them worry.
But legit the worst part of mine was the bruising...

lol i am well over 200.

as a child i was an accident waiting to happen.
several bike accidents.
an in home accident i caused at 2 that was the bulk of them over 100 in my face.

also been knocked uncon several times.

i have so many scars ...

tagged out sliding into second in the head.
playing tackle football with friends.
one of the bike accidents i hit my head pretty hard.
hit the poles supporting young trees chasing a fly ball.
basically i was a very active kid :)
most of those were elementary or middle school age before we were driving.


no fighting knock outs, actually only 1 major fight in 7th grade pe. I got tired of being bullied. but it did make for stressful walks home for most of a month :) had like a mile and a half walk to and from school.

So, I was fifteen when this happened. It was the summer of '01, and me and my camp group were leaving McDonald's after an ice cream trip, and I noticed my crush (let's call him Dylan) standing next to the door to the bus. (we used the school district's bus system for transportation) What I completely overlooked in ogling Dylan was a two-sided curb; I tripped, flew across the lot, and landed headfirst on the bus steps and burst my skull right open! I had to spend the rest of the afternoon at the hospital getting TWELVE FUDGING STITCHES! At least Dylan noticed me, though... lol

my step-siblings at the time were setting up a tent in the backyard and randomly, my step-sister asked if we wanted to play """dungeon"""
i didn't want to play, but for some reason she took my answer as me roleplaying and kept shouting "get back!" at me, pushing me into the tent and zipping it up. it was so sudden and caused me to panic, but again, she thought i was playing along somehow. she was swinging around the hammer they used for the tent and hit me right in the upper forehead
looking back on it today i don't know how my dad and his girlfriend didn't take me to the ER or call for an ambulance; instead they just let me sit, trying to get the blood to stop and worried about whether i needed stitches later on. their friend who was a nurse said i wouldn't need stitches but if it had been just a little worse, i would have.

i don't miss the days of my ex-step-siblings lmao and for those worried about my biological dad. yeah, he's not great. my sister and i don't keep in contact with him. i've had other injuries to my head in the past that he was never concerned about either, and my family i do keep in contact with don't like it.

1. A piece of staging fell on my head when we were striking the set in college.
2. I slit my finger open on a glass countertop at a store where I worked.
3. I had my Achilles’ tendon replaced.

I’ve had more surgeries, including last week, but some didn’t require stitches.
