Mia not having lines for 1:20 minutes? I was legit shocked that Onda had quite a bit at the beginning and she sounded wonderful! So Yuehua, it does work with a lines more distributed throughout the members as well. I appreciate that I could finally hear all of their voices for longer and clearer, I didn't even realize Aisha had such a deep tone to her voice and she's my bias. Mia sounds even better than before as well, more mature in a sense?

This is hands down their best comeback, and also one of the best of this year

I'm also pleased with the line distribution in this title track. Each member slayed their part so well and I got some surprises.

The biggest thing I noticed/heard was the same as you: that Aisha has a very nice deep voice. I LOVED her part in the air vent, it was so powerful.

One of my fave mini albums this year as well, they really went all out with this

I like how Everglow explores these powerful genres they do, and I really hope they do Synth-Retro again. They own this genre so much. Great album for sure. :D

ok. finally watched the mv and listened to the song for the first time and omg. this is absolutely the best song of the year. it’s
also one of the best songs of this generation in my opinion. it’s perfect. it’s a mix of retro, second gen, and the new gen.

I honestly think everglow is IT. Definitely now an ult group of mine. I say it every comeback but this just proves me again how solid they have been for me since debut and definitely earned it for me.

This is by far the most unique comeback of 2020. Yes, retro was done and synth-pop was done, but there's something about that Sin City atmosphere, the disco influence, and the song finally has a CHORUS!!! EVERGLOW could overtake, especially when Yena joins.

Finally, Imma say what I always say when EG comes back, just to stir some shit: BP wish they could.

As someone who listens to modern Synth-pop and Retrowave by some incredible artists that breathe a new life to the genre today, I can't tell you enough how happy it makes me that one of my fave groups have slayed the genre.

As much as I love Blackpink, they need to step up their music game for sure. YG needs to allow more producers to make music for the group. Teddy will never be enough, and the girls deserve better and to have the opportunity to work with great producers from around the world.

i loved this comeback but why are yall talking about Blackpink in a thread about Everglow... like is it because bp is the standard for gc and darker concpets like these so yall feel like any time a girl group comes back with something decent you feel as though they have surpassed bp in some way? like I don't know what other answer it could be considering the fact that everglow and Blackpink are two different groups. It's not about thinking any group surpasses another, in this case EG surpassing BP.

Knowing the thoughts of those that have mentioned BP here, myself included, we are making a subjective opinion about the personal impact Blackpink have made on us since debut right to their latest comeback.

Blackpink is one of my faves, I love their music, but when EG and (G)I-DLE debuted unfortunately a portion of our own fandom talked shit about them saying they are "copying" and/or are "influenced" by BP. (They haven't copied and they are not influenced by BP at all). Yet both Idle and EG have, although they focus on the more girl crush concepts like BP, introduced different producers to make a discography that has variety, diverse sound and is impactful. As such their music sounds great to my own personal taste, but most importantly, I know to expect something slightly different each time they comeback.

Without a doubt, Blackpink doesn't have a single "bad" song. I personally really like all their songs so much, with a few of their songs within my fave list of K-pop songs ever. Teddy is a quality producer and has done well by BP. Again, having seen the past conversations/comments of those that have mentioned BP here, we think, like I'm sure most of the Blink fandom knows, BP deserve more than just Teddy. They deserve to work with other world class producers.

I personally feel like Teddy has an expiration date and the more he solely produces BP's music, the less impactful their music could feel. Naturally and even understandably, some Blinks already feel like BP's music is less impactful and have been for a while. However, Teddy could in fact keep an endless quality for the duration of BP's career, which I'm certainly here for and would love every moment of it. But, BP deserve more than just Teddy, right?

As such, the small mention of BP in this thread comes from a place of love, as I personally want to see, hear and feel even MORE impact from Blackpink in the future. Similar to how each time, for example, EG makes a comeback, I feel it. I want that for Blackpink, now and always.

it may come from a place of love to you but it seemed pretty shady when it comes to other people mentioning them in a thread that has nothing to do with them.

saying "oh i loved this comeback, i hope bp can do something similar in the future" isn't shade.

saying "Everglow is what bp wants to be" and saying that "Everglow surpassed bp" is shady and not at all coming from a place of love.

and I don't have a personal vendetta against everglow, and it's not hateful to say that everglow definitely took inspiration from bp in their earlier comebacks just like a lot other ggs did. everglow is actually one of the groups that I've seen blinks be nice to... of course there are bad apples but the overall perception of Everglow when it comes to blinks is good.

and I still don't understand why bp was brought up if it didn't have anything to do with the fact that bp are the standard... why are yall thinking about bp in a thread about everglow? why don't yall think about g-idle, twice, red velvet or even loona. why is it only bp? that's what I'm curious about.

I can't really speak for anyone else, but my own comment on BP highlighted purely my wish for them to work with other producers and not just Teddy. Coming from a place where I'd like to see/hear slightly different music from them in the future, that carries the impact I feel from other music my faves release with each comeback.

Maybe the others feel the exact same as a number of Blinks in the fandom do also feel like Teddy isn't enough? It's just about being in that head space to be honest, of wanting more from a group that is perhaps getting a little less impactful, from an entirely personal (not objective) aspect.

This thread provided nothing more than a reiteration of that personal wish for another fave/group, thus the mention of BP here. :)

Well imho EG surpassed BP in music quality AND yes i compare them with each other.. BP / EG / ITZY etc..

BP is only a shade of themselves ( BP from 2016-2018 ) they got me into kpop, my first ult-group, my ult-bias in Jennie, my first fandom..
But after D4... everything they realeased is bad to mediocore ! BP went/goes downhill !

I dont even blame Teddy oppa, its more, after they signed with Interscope, everything went bad..

Take it or leave it, i still love BP and will always hope for another AIIYL, PWF, D4 .
