Kpop merchandise has gotten expensive and i have noticed. kpop companies are getting too comfortable with fans' loyalty and are dishing out member versions of a single album, expensive lightsticks and simple merchandise being around 45$ and are probably going up. it is not worth it to see some of these fans on tiktok post videos of their kpop themed bedrooms filled with merch that cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. i mean the obsessive kind where their walls are filled to the brim with kpop posters and their shelves in kpop memorabilia, like a shrine of some sort. at this point it isn't even worth it to purchase kpop merchandise at this point as it's not as accessible and cheap as it used to be. you're better off buying merchandise from third party sellers. i know that merchandise won't be this expensive forever, but it's a problem at the moment. You don't need to decorate your room kin to a kpop shrine just to show your appreciation and love for groups, listening to them is more than enough.

I've noticed albums here cost roughly the same as ordering from Korea but also paying the shipping fee so import fees are definitely a big part of the problem and they are baked into the base price here.

I ordered an album from Korea that was about 9$ but after various fees I actually payed closer to 40$.

It's all quite cheap in Korea (also Japan) so if anyone plans to go make sure to bring extra money and a list of things.
