What is your favorite and least favorite kind of fish?
My favorite would either be shrimp or cod. Shrimp is good with everything and cod has a mild flavor that makes it easy to dress it up.. Plus the way it flakes when cooked it very attractive in my opinion.
Least Favorite: Catfish or Talapia. I just cannot tolerate the taste of either.

My fave fish i think is this:
Grouper cantonese style(?) in tomato gravy/sauce but its been many yrs since iv had it. Alternative is just normal cod/haddock ala fish n chips.
Offhand, i Cant think of a least favorite fish as im eating only canned tuna fish sandwiches n i like most fish (even ones with lots of tiny bones as i love to eat fish, dont eat as much as i used to wjhen i was younger tho)
I like tuna fine, i might just be reaching oversaturation after 2 yrs of constant canned tuna fish sandwiches(which i wasnt even thinking of b4 u asked me, so i blame u if i lose this ever-present source of protein n fuel n need to resort to peanut butter sandwiches or sardine sandwiches instead, LOL)
Thats basically what we ate as a child never the tuna fish light cans, because the light tuna was always a soupy mess. The regular cans were intact and the tuna was still somewhat chunky. But basically it was tuna-salad sandwiches and pre-packaged ramen noodles. And the pre-packaged ramen noodles in the us (as made by TOP and Maruchen) are wayyyy too salty. It tastes like a Boullion cube. But basically the cans of tuna, when I was younger, were $0.33 so it was common for poorer people to eat for lunch. Especially for those living in single parent households who didn't have a parent to cook for them.

Im too lazy (n its quite variable if restaurants were open for dine in/takeaway n closing hrs: during lockdown here, which officially ended on 1st april/may 2022-after stages 1,2,3). So i got used to eating these cheap stomach-filling canned tuna sandwiches, cause i dint hv to think much abt going to the restaurant/wat to order/go b4 they close/decide which restaurant to go to n all tat hassle. Plus i already had instant ramen in stock EVEN b4 lockdown started here 2 yrs ago.
It seems im not only one who subsisted on both these staples cause i constantly saw stocks of canned tuna spread run out (not ramen tho, n the tuna not as much after april/may).

Honestly, with the ramen though... I've found that if you just don't use the flavor package and make your own sauce it tends to taste better. And plus i've seen so many tutorials from people who just add a lot of things to their noodle package like vegetables, eggs, cheese, hot sauce, etc... But ramen is really cheap where I am at.. six packs for $1.25
What's your recipe for tuna sandwiches though? I'd be interested to see our differences in making them.

By synchronicity/serendipity awhile bk, 1 or 2 weeks ago (maybe even just last week i forget) watched this youtube video after it popped up on my rec list, about ramen's creation n story thereafter tat was interesting! Do u mean cup or non-cup ramen? U dont like the cardboard/styrofoam aftertaste of cup noodles but my young nephews love 'em!!

I used to be more elaborate making food for myself whe i was younger, cooking spaghetti bolognese, chicken breast sandwiches but iv gone too lazy other than simple basic ingredients like these:
Ill try n take a picture of a basic sandwich which ill make for my bfast.if im not too lazy, fair warning its rlly basic LOL.
I woulda added tomato sliced, cucumber sliced and or lettuce sliced but at one point i got too lazy to buy the ingredients(way b4 lockdown tho) n i found tat fresh ingredients spoil b4 i finish eating em, eg fruit like apples, oranges, watermelon, papaya eve if i kept em in the fridge cause i was like "out of sight, out of mind" n id just be be too lazy to deal with even opening the fridge door to take out an apple or other fruit n eat it. For watermelon/papaya, id cut em n put em in a plastic container n because it only keeps a day or two before going bad, id eat em quickly. BUT if i bought em n dint cut em n store immediately, then id forget/be too lazy to cut em l8r n goodbye. So i stopped buying fruit for a long while. Sporadically id buy some apples or occasionally oranges but its been a coupla mths since.
It comes in a package. I do like the kind in a syrfoam cut. the issue that I have with a lot of the packaged ramen in the US is that the flavor packet that comes with it is very high in sodium and sort of tasteless. The beef kind, in my opinion, tastes sort of like mercury. And that is why I tend to throw away the flavor package and just use the noodles and prepare my own seasoning for it. Otherwise I would just eat the chicken and add a lot of Cayenne Pepper because the chicken kind is sort of bland.
Wow. The tuna sandwich you are talking about is vastly different from the ones we would make. This was basically how I was taught to make tuna-salad which is then spread on the bread making tuna sandwich:
me, an indian bengali who has been brought up on fish, reading the english fish names and feeling very very lost... (i know the basic ones like shrimp, tuna, cod, salmon, etc,,, but wtf are tilapia and pangasius???)
can i answer with bengali and hindi fish names?
edit: i'll answer anyway - ilish supremacy, and koi creeps me out

The type i like is a mix of chicken n spicy, 1/2 chk n 1/2 curry/laksa/tomyam powder, some pkts hv powder AND flavored oil but i hardly buy those any more.
I think this video shows an interesting take, ramen was invented in japan-these 2 japanese living outside japan try non-japanese instant noodles(idk if they're sincere or just doing it for clicks but other videos not of ramen seems to genuinely show their appreciation of non-japanese food-or they're rlly good at faking it)

If my mom made tuna sandwiches when i was a kid, she mighta made such a sandwich. But i think canned tuna wasnt common then during the jurassic age, we had to use fresh icthyosaurus or just canned sardines.LOL.(or archeopteryx egg sandwiches!! Scrambled is my fave)
I dont rlly like all the ingredients mushed together in a tuna sandwich, i prefer to taste n feel the crunch of fresh vegetables but if someone else in my household makes it(with my mom n my brother's family), ill eat it however its prepared. Idt tuna sandwiches are regularly made in my household tho, its more for convenuence n not hvg to go to the store (n finishing up wats in the can b4 it goes bad) tat i eat so much.
