Jeon Hong Joon, the CEO of FIFTY FIFTY’s agency ATTRAKT, has made a new statement regarding the “external forces” that approached the group’s members about violating their contracts.

Earlier this week, ATTRAKT released a formal statement announcing that a third party had approached FIFTY FIFTY in the hopes of enticing them to violate their exclusive contracts with their current agency. ATTRAKT stated, “Through slanderous accusations against us and glorified flattery about themselves, these external forces are committing an illegal act of inducing our agency’s artists to make the wrong decision to ignore their valid exclusive contracts and sign contracts with them.”

ATTRAKT went on to declare that it planned to hold the third party in question legally liable and that it would “fight to the end without compromise” in order to do so.

On June 25, in an exclusive interview with Korean news outlet Sports Chosun, Jeon Hong Joon remarked, “We are receiving information about the identity of these external forces through a variety of routes. The identity of the forces pulling the strings from behind will be revealed soon.”

“Things will not go the way that these external forces maliciously intend,” he continued. “It will be a difficult time for us, but we will take legal action until the end. As a veteran who has worked in the Korean music industry for 30 years, I will put my honor on the line to stand up against this injustice and fight back.”

Jeon Hong Joon added, “Even now, what I’m most worried about is the FIFTY FIFTY members, who will be hurt by this situation. I hope that they will return as soon as possible to their agency and gradually move forward with the projects that we had been in the process of preparing, such as their American promotions.”

So another label is trying to poach/steal the group? That is Insane!
I've never heard of this before. Reading about this tactic from the other label just revealed itself to be a piece of crap.

I hope the judge uses their brain and decides quickly on the original label having complete right to keep the group with them and punishes the other label heavily by having them repay FiftyFifty's label for the court appearances and more.

it’s not uncommon that companys try to 'steal' groups from another company
SM, for example, did that with one of their former artists

Zhang Liyin
She was an artist under DR Music and her mother requested her contract to be terminated, so she can "focus on her studies"
but a few days later she signed a contract with SM and her former company sued SM
SM eventually had to pay a fine

The biggest complication might be is if ther is something that can invalidate the fifty fifty contracts. I'd like to know what offer was so enticing to convince the girls to jump ship and if the company that stole them explained how this could ruin their careers and have major financial consequences.

shades of Momoland v2. Time will tell. Perhaps he'll change the agency's name to 50entertainment like the other dude did with MLD.
Nothing like branding the entire company after a girl group your about to ruin.

And what was the point. then SM just wasted her too. It was still a very hard time for Chinese not named Victoria in Korea.
I guees give em credit they tried for decades to get stuff working in China.
At best its semi successful.

All this talk about external forces recently... sometimes I feel like kpop is more like space invaders right now..

I find it hard to follow the fiffty fiffty situation.. but I will try not to jump to any conclusions yet.. still sad to see something like this going on when they should be having their big chance right now

If there is one thing I've learned about K-pop companies is that they aren't good with thinking about consequences... It's they act weird for profit seeking entities...
and the other thing I learned is that they always really really care about the artists well being, just like the nice CEO of Fiffty Fiffty current company claims that his main concern are the girls :pandaangel:
