First anime you ever watched? (2 Viewers)

I'm pretty sure mine was Elfen Lied, but it could've been Death Note since my friends were raving about it around the time I discovered Elfen Lied, I watched Elfen Lied after I caught an episode over my sister's shoulder, I probably shouldn't have been watching it at that age but yolo u know? Now that I think about it it could have also probably been Shaman King because it was airing in the UK on Jetix (channel) but I don't really count it because 1. I didn't really know what anime was and that Shaman King was one of them at the time and 2. I didn't watch the entire series until much later, I just watched any episode that I caught airing~

Still hits me to this day. Also, 'Cruel Angel's Thesis' is still one of my favorite anime songs ever and I don't see that changing any time soon

When I was a kid, this used to air on AXN or something, anyway I was hooked, didn't know it was a manga but didn't care. This probably exposes my age lmao.




Also a show called Ninku, and this mecha anime called Yamato Takeru, which are both pretty nugu shows in the grand scheme of things. Flame of Recca is still kinda known.

After that I moved onto Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon (which I dropped), and then had a hiatus of a few years before rediscovering my anime love with Naruto.

I didn't count it as mine because I didn't watch many episodes and didn't really care about it at the time. It's a long running series so you don't have to have watched every episode for it to count but as long as you were a fan at the time and were really invested in the show then i'd say it counts ?

Naruto started airing just after Shaman King ended for me and I wanted to watch it but my parents suddenly decided they weren't paying for kid's channels anymore so I never watched it and now it's a beast of a series that i'm never gonna watch LOL

I watched it online from some sites since they didn't air that one here. They did air FMA (original) and DBZ though so it's not all bad. Even though most anime they ended up airing when I was teenager were game shows like Yugioh GX (why not the original..), Beyblade, Bakugan which were more of sth my little brother was into. So I had to seek out more online.

How the MC gets the power of each of the dragons, the whole backstory of the Hokage ninja clan from the medieval period, the long tournament arc and the boss fights

Oh that reminds me, Yu Yu Hakusho was another one of the early animes for me, def not the first but yeah. Hiei was my guy

Yeah I got into it thinking, oh cool robot fights. Amazing.
But then the whole angst, existential crisis, mental collapses

I watched it online from some sites since they didn't air that one here. They did air FMA (original) and DBZ though so it's not all bad. I think we had the original Yugioh, my brothers were obsessed with it and had their lil toys for their cards n stuff but all I remember from that show is the funky hair, we also had DBZ, not FMA tho.

Nowhere close Elfen Lied is just messed up as a whole, no matter the age you watch it (though it'd be infinitely worse as a kid)
