First the quiz, what specific event led to July 4th being known as Independence Day? No google until you've answered ofc

And secondly, are you celebrating in any way? We're making a red white and blue fruit tart, but otherwise no.

The first victim That's what lots of people think but it was signed August 2nd (or at least that's when they began signing). But the Declaration of Independence was adopted July 4th. Some people (*cough* John Adams *cough*) thought the celebration should be on July 2nd, when they voted for independence, but no luck for him.
