Forget About Unstanning, When Do You Retire Your Faves? (1 Viewer)

Usually when you unstan a group, something bad happened or the music gets terrible. Retiring them is more like putting them on a shelf and not coming back to them often because they went inactive, disbanded etc but you still kinda like them.

I think people stanning 2nd gen groups understand what I mean.

I could say I retired SNSD, Girl's Day, and T-ara. Still love them and follow a few of the members but the interest is gone because they aren't really active musically

I do something similar. I call B1A4 my boxed ults, meaning they’re not doing much for enlistment reasons, but if anybody was to release a solo or a digital single, I will be there to hype the hell out of them.

Probably only SNSD/Oh!GG for me, since i think i dont stan too many groups(ignore my sig).

Up until recently, I didn’t talk about Big Bang because they were all enlisted and hadn’t had a comeback for a while.

When it's clear that activity will be few and far between at the least which is why I don't talk about EXID that much anymore since only Solji is really active in terms of music and even that isn't that often so at the point I could cover EXIDs musical activities by saying I stan a single member that's not the best look.

Mamamoo although in a similar weird group position are still all active musically with 3 of them having had a comeback this year already and Hwasas latest comeback still being in November so not that long ago. Gfriend I just took out of my signature entirely recently since they're definitely inactive as a group and with Yerin releasing a solo it'll be 5/6 of the members who have musical activity and I can just add Sowon if she does end up releasing something on her own.

Going by that definition of "retiring" as opposed to "unstanning"; I have retired no group I have stanned. I have unstanned two groups; one for a disappointing change in sound and the other for radical lineup changes.

i suppose I do that with JBJ & B.A.P, both are no longer doing group activities but I still like the music and keep up with a few things for most of the members and will check out their project’s and such. I still consider myself a stan of them though.

I usually retire a group if they become completely inactive or if they make music I no longer like. I retired BTS and RV for making music I don’t like now, whereas I stopped keeping up with EXID and AOA due to lack of activities

I guess I kinda did that with BTS. I mean, I still love and listen to them and I'll be absolutely over the moon when/if they come back (I heard June somewhere), and maybe they'll even climb back up my stanlist, but for now, I'm focusing more on other groups and idols.
