Former Monsta X Member Wonho Cleared of All Charges

The K-pop star left Monsta X last year after allegations of past drug usage.

"K-pop star Wonho has been cleared of all charges by Seoul police in an investigation into allegations of past drug usage.

On Friday (March 13), Starship Entertainment announced that the former Monsta X member had been cleared of all charges by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency after an investigation was launched against him last year following a series of allegations made against him.

"During the investigation, Wonho actively cooperated with the police and all investigation procedures, including scientific examinations by the investigative agencies,” reads a statement from Starship. “The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation unit conducted extensive investigations for the past five months but was unable to find any charges. Finally, on March 10th, Wonho's internal investigation was concluded.”

Though the singer, who is known as both Lee and Shin Ho-seok legally but has used the stage name "Wonho" for his entire career, left Monsta X and halted his career as an artist last year, Starship’s statement hints to a renewed future path for the beloved star, whose departure from Monsta X amid the investigation resulted in widespread protests from fans. “We will continue to fully support Wonho for developing his own career in the future,” said Starship. At this time, there is no clarification regarding what his "own career in the future" entails.

Wonho most recently participated in Monsta X's English-language All About Luv LP, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in February."

"The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation team cleared Wonho, a former member of the idol group Monsta X, of all charges against him on March 10th after closing an investigation into the drug, including marijuana.

In late October last year, allegations of marijuana smoking were raised against Wonho which consequently led the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation team to investigate all drug charges on him. During the investigation, Wonho actively cooperated with the police and all investigation procedures, including scientific examinations by the investigative agencies. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation unit conducted extensive investigations for the past five months but was unable to find any charges. Finally, on March 10th, Wonho's internal investigation was concluded.

Regardless of any above, we would like to apologize once again for the fact that Starship Entertainment and Wonho have caused great concern to our fans. We also thank all our fans for their unwavering support while the investigation was conducted.

During the long investigation, we tried our best to minimize media exposure to Wonho and to appoint an attorney to ensure that there are no charges against him. We will continue to fully support Wonho for developing his own career in the future.

The way Starship worded it makes it seem so! Billboard translated a bit poorly but the actual sounds more like SS is willing to support Wonho in whatever he chooses

The drug accusations were made by the same person who made the money accusations, thus this puts her whole story in doubt. Oh, and she was allegedly in jail for meth when she accused him of drug use in the first place. He's gonna be just fine.
