This is one of the things that feels kinda needlessly BS-y to me, especially with larger acts. It's not like HYBE could realistically form another fromis_9 and have fans accept that. Like when G-Dragon had to secure rights to his own stage name, it's not like YGE could reuse it for anyone else.

I think the reason companies do this is because of how well-known the name is, they want to keep it so the artists will have difficulties thriving. A name change can be detrimental to some artists, and for people who do not follow them closely they won't know they changed names. It is all a guilt-trippy thing by the companies so that these groups have to start from nearly ground zero.

You'd think it'd be something fans could rally around pretty easily, given the objective is to kneecap their faves.

(In cases like this. Tbh, with some smaller groups who have had lots of members, I can see it being more, like who really should get the name. But fromis_9 is well-known and had a solid lineup.)

The name doesn't matter. Just the girls. If HYBE wants any sort of compensation they should tell them where to stick it and rebrand. They'll be ok.

External... ie. Pressure from fans. although, I don't think there's enough flover to apply enough pressure, financial or other wise. hence, the name doesn't matter. they should rebadge as Rhododendron and the fans can be Mad bees.

if there were enough flover then they wouldn't even be in this mess to begin with - they probably would have all renewed if there were sufficient money made
