How would this help cure AIDS?
Along with this florescence gene, a gene known to help against FIV, which is the feline version of AIDS was added. The florescence gene doesnt help with the cure per say, it was added so that there would be an easily visible way to find out if the genes ended up being activated or not. It was also shown to be able to not just exist in the genetically modified cat, but the cats were able to pass down these genes to their offspring. The feline form of AIDS and human form are quite similar, which is why cats were chosen for the study, they could be a more accurate picture of how we can tackle the issues with humans.

I already get creeped out enough by my cats glowing eyes in the dark I don't need it's entire body glowing.

Although I'm scared of the dark so it could come in handy as a night light... Now I'm conflicted. :sanathink:
