The issue is that nobody seems to really care. This is a 16-year-old girl who is not only having her idol career ruined but getting shit thrown at her left and right as a result of photos where you can't even see the person's face. To top it off people are sexualizing her saying super vulgar things, and sending death threats. She is still in school and for some reason, people seem to be forgetting that...she literally most likely will now be the victim of SEVERE bullying because she fucked up at 12 years old. And all of this was aired publically and it's not like this is an unknown company, this is HYBE known internationally and nationally. People don't seem to be getting the gravity of the shit being thrown this girl's way at fucking 16 years old.

Yeah, she fucked up but I don't think I'd be able to live anymore if I was in her shoes and my past mistakes were taken to this level of harrassment and punishment. I'm just pissed people seem to just simply say "oh yeah obviously she shouldn't get death threats" and act like that absolves them of taking any accountability for how this is all genuinely affecting a 16-year-old girl.

I went throw something similar but on a much more minor scale and when I was older for mistakes I made and I wound up really going off the deep end. I can't imagine being her right now. I know she fucked up at 12 years old but FFS SHE WAS TWELVE YEARS OLD.

Nobody seems to give a fuck. If she winds up dead people are suddenly going to act remorseful when it's all BS. Her victim obviously deserved justice but that justice was given when the court got involved-this is OVERKILL. I'm really having a hard time understanding how people can rejoice over this public reputation killing and life-ruining...but ya know whatever.

i don't entirely disagree with you since it is indeed a messed up situation especially for a teenager, which is why i said i hope this is a sign for companies to stop debuting minors because no child should be put in this situation ever, especially since some of those things you mentioned like sexualising comments and harassment are not something exclusive to this case but an issue that even idols who have never been involved in any kind of publicised scandals have to face. but at the same time i think it's too early to judge how exactly this will affect her, all those speculations with worst possible scenarios and the completely absurd and disrespectful comparisons to idols who have died by suicide in the past that i also saw are unnecessary as she might as well just settle for a life of a normal citizen and be able to grow safely - which is what i wish for her and most importantly for her victims too, online harassment can ruin lives but so can school bullying regardless of young age. however, i see nothing wrong with people saying "oh she obviously shouldn't get death threats" because at the end of the day this is the only thing most people can say as we don't have any power over those who do send her the threats so there is nobody who should be held accountable but them. i don't blame people for rejoicing her removal from the group like those who say "i can stan them now" because thinking that a person who drove another person to attempting suicide doesn't deserve an idol career isn't the same as agreeing with online harassment. i see where you're coming from and get why you're mad over this, honestly as much as i agree with the decision to let lesserafim promote as five i think it is incredibly disappointing to see this situation reach this state because such issues could have been prevented if it had been handled differently from the start.

At this point there needs many limits and regulations set for the whole idol trainee system and online behavior by netzines.

It seems too severe to me personally. Not only was she 12/13 at the time, from what I understand the school authorities already dealt with it and she got her punishment. That for me, and an acknowledgement and apology for past mistakes would have been enough. I guess they’ll be a lot to this we’ll never know.

It got out of hand because of HYBE. Instead of delaying her debut or even first having Garam apologize and take time to reflect they came out swinging, denying, and suing. They may have even approached schools to try and silence them. All while the victim/accuser didn't back down and more evidence appeared. It was horrible PR, and unfortunately Garam will suffer for it while HYBE continues on.

it could've been easily avoided if hybe didn't mess it up like they did. now what we got is people harassing garam and people defending garam by insulting the victim, which are both obviously wrong. i don't feel bad for her contract being terminated since it's one of the consequences that she should face but this might have been solved in a way that's better for both parties if not for how the company terribly handled it. this one new boy group atbo removed a member prior to debut due to school bullying as well so it can be done and i hope companies become more careful so we never see this kind of mess happen again.

What she said was that Eunseo (the victim) got a grade 8 discipline but avoided it with the help of her family and that Garam only cussed at her for Eunseo posting photos of Garams friend in her underwear.

The kicker though is that she also told Hybe all this apparently and they didn't do anything with the information and due to Garam being under Hybe it meant she couldn't say anything herself and accused Hybe of letting the situation play out the way it did for noise marketing.
