daredb is honestly one of the best and few reliable kpop channels out there. he doesnt overdramatize things for views and is actually funny. he stans a lot of groups and has been a fan for a long time so you find variety of selections from his videos. i havent checked this one yet but thanks for reminding me.

did he mention red velvet or something? cause i dont think twice, rv, or gfriend did anything significant that really changed the kpop industry and its generations moving forward. bp did make some achievements in the west but snsd was already the ngg before twice, a lot of groups already done the innocent girl concept, and fx was the resident unique group before rv. they didnt really make any big changes to the genre in my opinion. i'll have to watch the vid before forming any conclusion tho.

I feel pretty similar about it. I'm still not sure if we are at 4gen, 3gen has gone past so quickly if that's the case xd but it's new phase right now think

you're very persistent. i like that.
but like you said on the other thread, WG and snsd already did those things before gfriend and twice. but their achievements are no less impressive. i just feel like there hasnt been of much of a huge revolutionary thing that happened in 3rd gen in general. sure bts and bp got some fame in the west but kpop was already popular there and the kpop niche thing will probably die down after a while and return back to being an just asia thing (with a lot more western fans). there hasnt even been any iconic songs surpassing gee or growl. 3rd gen was really uneventful except for its scandals.
