8 (?) member boy group under KQ Entertainment. One of the biggest 4th gen groups. The members are Seonghwa, Jongho, Wooyoung, Mingi, San, and some others I’m forgetting (yikes to think I made their cards and still forget their names ). Their concept is pirates I believe, they debuted with the song Treasure with Pirate King as a promoted bside. Jongho is the main vocal. I can’t think of anything else

A 12 member group under Blockberry Creative, they’re also one of the top 4th gen groups. The members I remember off the top of my head include Vivi, Gowon, Chuu, Olivia Hye, Jinsoul, and Kim Lip. They gained popularity partially due to their pre debut concept, where each member got a solo, as well as were in a subunit, before the group released its first group song. Their first group song was Favorite, but their official debut was High Hi. They’ve been releasing songs semi regularly I think, but their company has faced some economic issues. I really don’t know much about them either

Kep1er was formed on Girls Planet 999, which was an MNet survival show with Sunmi as one of the mentors. The show included Korean, Chinese, and Japanese members. The eliminations were supposedly questionable, lots of evil editing, you know your typical MNet survival show. I only know 3 Kep1er members tbh and can’t spell the names of one of them despite them being your favorite, but I know she’s Huening Kais sister. The other member I know is Yujin (formerly of CLC). The third is a Chinese member named Xiaoting. Kep1er debuted with Wa Da Da recently.

They used to be known for cute concepts but have matured, mostly starting with Fancy, and now do more mature concepts such as I Can’t Stop Me. They’re popular especially in Korea and Japan, but internationally as well, being one of the top girl groups at the moment. Their album sales are also unusually high for a girl group.

Shinee are a 4/5 part boy group under SM Entertainment. The members are (in age order) Onew (lead vocalist), Jonghyun (main vocalist), Key(vocalist, lead dancer, lead rapper), Minho (sub vocal, main rapper), and Taemin (sub vocal originally but deserves better now, main dancer, maknae). Shinee debuted on May 25, 2008 with the song Replay, which features f(x) Victoria in the music video. Shinee received many awards as rookies and gained a lot of attention due to their vocals when performing. Despite their good reputation, Key revealed that Shinee was originally meant to be a rap group because their vocals were originally so weak. The members can play various instruments, including bass (Jonghyun, he was originally in a band as a bassist but complained his fingers were too short) and guitar (Taemin, it’s unknown exactly how much skill he has with it but he’s played it for performances). Jonghyun was also one of the few idols under SM (back in their day) that has songwriting credits. He also became the first SM idol to produce a song for a YG entertainment artist, when he produced Breathe for Lee Hi (blanking on the name, I think it’s for her). He has produced songs for many other artists as well, such as IU, Taemin, and himself ofc. Every Shinee member has solo songs, with Taemin being the first to officially debut solo and Minho being the latest. Shinee have started many trends, from fashion (brightly colored skinny jeans back in the day), to being one of the forerunners for musical trends. Shinee have experimented with many genres of music, even going to far as to have a performance of a screamo 1st gen kpop song callled Internet War, which got famous due to it being too “gay” for the Korean public and leading Jonghyun to rebel against the backlash by putting his profile photo on Twitter to a photo of the performance. Jonghyun had also shown support to the LGBT community when he changed his profile photo to a letter written by a lgbt person in Korea (bi and trans iirc) talking about the discrimination they faced as an lgbt person in Korea. Jonghyun also had a radio show when he talked about a lot of different stigmas faced in regards to lgbt people and mental health. unfortunately, he passed away from suicide on December 18, 2017. Shinee dedicated one of their title tracks on their anniversary releases to him. I have more info tbh but I think I’ll stop here because it’s getting kinda long
